This is one of my most favorite postcards ever. The picture is... Well, I'll come back to the picture in a bit. The above posty is from Dove and Clint whilst on their honeymoon through Europe. From France's Moulin Rouge they went to Italy and from the sound of it had a great time. I imagine Dove and Clint on bikes of various varieties... Dirt bikes and padded gear... no. Harley Davidsons... nope. A tandem bike? Beach Cruisers? Unicycles? Hmmm, maybe, but nah. Better yet, the Classic Italian Vespa a la Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck in Roman Holiday but with an espresso each and no police station. Ah cute.
Now back to the picture. I venture that it is one of the most Roma-ntic images ever. So romantic in fact that it might have been PS'd (Photoshopped as we say here in The China). I've showed many people this postcard, and everyone always says the same thing, "I don't remember any water around the Colosseum." Which is why I postulate, if you will (will you?) that the image is Photoshopped. Either that or very well produced. A quick search on Google Earth also confirms that there's no water to be found. It could be a big puddle of water pooled together from the rain in a construction site, but what about the roads, trees, other buildings. I doubt it. So, yeah - PS'd.
On a related note, I'm going to ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) in Cannes for work in December. I know, tough break huh? Seriously, this job is going to be the end of me! Well, I have the option of tacking on a few days of annual leave after the conference and, here's where it gets difficult. Should I stay in Europe after ILTM and visit my friend Marco in Rome, or come back to Asia and visit my friend Audra in Singapore? Because it will be December after all. Like, take a low-cost-carrier to Rome and spend time in the Mediterranean with 60% chance of rain or... cash in some miles and fly down to S'pore with a 60% chance of rain. Ok, Vespa, espresso and the Pope OR chilli crab, beaches and casinos - not to mention Malaysia just over the hill. What do you think I should do? Seriously, these are the issues of the day! Well, it doesn't matter just yet. As for Dove and Clint - next stop, Greece! So, grazie guys, I got your postcard!

My first thought as well was....I don't remember water at the Colosseum.
Truly must be PS'd. I like the puddle idea though. If it was a real image the Colosseum would be surrounded by dirt and pushy tourist.
