Camera-less in Hua Hin, Thailand

I'll make this one easy. You don't even need to guess. This postcard does not count. Period. The reason - it's a postcard that I bought when vacationing in Hau Hin - about three hours drive south of Bangkok.

The illustration... I'm quite proud of it because for one, I don't draw; for two, I have to be proud of it - what else would fuel this useless dribble that I go on about with postcards.

This posty is actually one of the few reminders of a holiday spent in Hua Hin with friend where I don't have pictures. The picture is of the 50 meter infinity pool that was a part of our resort. I drew the picture on the postcard because I dropped my camera in the pool on the first day! As you can imagine, as the point-and-shoot Asian cliche - I was gutted.  Oddly enough I remember the entire trip all the better, but I don't have Facebook picture bragging rights - and why else do we take photos... even before Facebook... admit it!

So, I immediately picked up the camera and shrugged it off with an "It's cool" look while my insides are twisted in knots. I quickly and politely (imagine that) asked for a bowl of uncooked rice. It took the staff a few mintues, but I got my bowl of rice and that's where my camera sat for the rest of the trip. So, I have a picture and some really great memories of Hua Hin.

Oh yeah - and Happy 2011 everyone!

Get there!
